The most distressing news of the day is that Speaker of the House, John Boehner is talking about caving to the Dimocrats and raising taxes. Yes, it's gonna be part of the "debt deal" and he expects that the "compromise" with the Dimocrats will only be possible " if Democrats were willing to take significant and painful steps to shore up Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security."
Right......Mr. speaker, remember back in the 1980's when Reagan tried to "compromise" with a mixture of spending cuts and revenue increases? Later Reagan lamented that the taxes were created but the cuts never happened.
Mr. Speaker do you really believe that the Dimocrats are going to go along with any meaningful entitlement reform? If you're that damned gullible you sure don't need to be the next Speaker of the House much less a United States Congressman.
You've already screwed the pooch once this year by raising the debt ceiling and giving Obama a couple trillion more dollars just to piss away. Grow a pair, Mr. Speaker!
