The Winged Monkey, otherwise known as Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, has just said that the "rich can afford to contribute a teeny fraction more".
First of all, Harry, it's NOT a contribution. A contribution is something given freely and voluntarily. Taxes are when the gubment, under threat of fines or jailtime, confiscates our hard earned money.
Secondly, Harry, who is rich? Billionaires? Millionaires? People making over 250K? 100K? What? What gives YOU the right to decide?
Thirdly, Harry, did you know that the top 10 percent of taxpayers pay 70 percent of the taxes already? Sounds like more than a fair share already to me.
Finally, Harry, did you know that taxing the rich at 100 percent of their earnings would not fix the debt problem? So why do it? If it will not solve the problem, why lay an extra burden on the job creators of the country?
Harry, you idiot, we have a SPENDING problem. Cutting spending is the only way we will get out of our financial mess.
