Amanda Seufried is playing the role of Linda Lovelace, a porno star in "Lovelace"

Jennifer's Body actress Amanda Seufried has stepped into a new role of porno star in the upcoming film "Lovelace" a part of the character itself. Linda Lovelace, the role in which Seufried is playing, was dubbed the "first erotic superstar" and who rose to fame with the 1972 porn film "Deep Throat." The film also stars James Franco, Sarah Jessica Parker, Wes Bentley, Sharon Stone, Hank Azaria, Chloe Sevigny and Peter Sarsgaard.

Lovelace, whose real name was Linda Susan Boreman, died at age 53 in a 2002 car crash. Despite the success of "Deep Throat" - one of the first adult films to enter mainstream pop culture, the actress later denounced her pornography career and became an anti-porn activist.

During her life, Lovelace wrote two "pro-porn" autobiographies in 1974 - "Inside Linda Lovelace" and "The Intimate Diary of Linda Lovelace" and two anti-porn books - "Ordeal" in 1980 and "Out of Bondage" in 1986.

"Lovelace" is tentatively set for release later this year. The title role is played by Seyfried, who rose to fame with the 2004 film "Mean Girls" with Lindsay Lohan and also starred on the HBO series "Big Love" as the daughter of a polygamist.

Seyfried, 26, has played racy roles before. The blonde actress appeared nude in a lesbian sex scene with "Boogie Nights" actress Julianne Moore in the 2009 film "Chloe." In recent celebrity photos from the set of "Lovelace" near Los Angeles, Seyfried sports brunette hair and several scantily clad outfits, including one that includes booty shorts and high boots, as seen on the website Just Jared.

It was announced in January that Sarah Jessica Parker would play feminist activist Gloria Steinem in the porn star biopic, replacing Demi Moore, who dropped out amid a recent health crisis. The movie began filming on Dec. 20, 2011, weeks after Moore, 49, announced in November that she had decided to end her six-year marriage to Ashton Kutcher, 33.

In "Lovelace," Sarsgaard plays Chuck Traynor, her first husband. Lovelace said in her 1980 autobiography "Ordeal" that he forced her to marry him, beat her and forced her into performing "unspeakable perversions on film." Wes Bentley stars as Lovelace's second husband Larry Marchiano. The two had a son and a daughter together before divorcing in 1996.

Steinem, 77, was a founding member of the New York-based feminist group "Women Against Pornography" and wrote about Lovelace in a 1980 article in Ms. Magazine, in which she said Traynor forced the actress into prostitution. That year, Lovelace took part in one of the group's New York protests that called for theater owners to stop showing "Deep Throat."

Sharon Stone, 58, plays Lovelace's mother. Her father will be portrayed by Robert Patrick, who played Bud Maybury on "Big Love" and the evil cyborg T-1000 in the 1991 film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Chloe Sevigny, who played sister wife Nicolette Grant on "Big Love," portrays a "feminist reporter on an assignment from a men's mag to find out who the real Linda Lovelace is," the film's spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com. James Franco portrays Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner.

Others confirmed cast members include "The Simpsons" star Hank Azaria as the director of "Deep Throat," "Entourage" actress Debi Mazar and Adam Brody of "The O.C. as Lovelace's co-stars and Juno Temple as her best friend.

Lindsay Lohan was originally cast to play Lovelace, but in November, it was announced that the film would move on without her following her extended stay in rehab.

In this film there are other renowned hot Hollywood players: Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Bobby Cannavale, James Franco, Chris Noth, Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts, Chloe Sevigny, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple. She is also working in another new film "Les Misérables."
